Instructions

Candidates must read the following instructions carefully:

  • The application for a training card must be made before May 15.
  • Candidates must complete the on-line questionnaire and make the payment for the indicated amount, which covers your training card fees for the selected academic year.

Before obtaining their first training card, graduates from medical schools

If the request is accepted, the CMQ will deliver a training card indicating the university training program, the duration as well as the training level  in which the candidate is registered.

The candidate who obtains a training card is registered with the CMQ. This registration may be revoked in accordance with the regulations of the CMQ.

The training card does not allow the candidate to:

  • practice medicine outside the accredited training centres;
  • write prescriptions, except for patients in the sites where the candidate is registered, while observing the limits of the applicable laws and regulations;
  • buy drugs from pharmaceutical companies for personal use;
  • charge fees;
  • sign certain medical documents such as death certificates, reports stating the necessity for closed treatment, insurance forms and forms of the Commission de la santé et de la sécurité du travail du Québec, Régie de l’assurance maladie or any other third-party payer.
