Appointed by the Board of Directors (BD), the Chief Executive Officer and Secretary not only exercises the functions normally assigned to an organization’s chief executive officer, but also those of secretary of the Order, as defined in the Professional Code, and the Medical Act.

As chief executive officer, he is the principal manager of the organization and, consequently, the superior of the directors and all personnel. He is responsible for the sound management of human, financial, material and information resources. He is also responsible for ensuring the BD’s decisions are implemented and that any policies developed are aligned with the BD’s orientations. He sets out objectives, oversees work related to budget preparation, recommends programs for adoption by the BD, follows up decisions and reports to the BD.

As secretary of the BD and the Executive Committee, he is responsible for preparing the minutes of the meetings of these bodies and ensuring their decisions are implemented. Dr. Robert assumes all the legal responsibilities of the secretary of the Order, namely, he maintains and updates the Roll of the Order, maintains archives and professional records and issues certificates of professional conduct. With the president, he signs permits to practice. He is responsible for developing and updating the Collège’s regulations. He supports the activities of the committees and working groups mandated by the BD and the Executive Committee and is responsible for producing any documents and briefs required by these bodies.

At the request of the president, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Collège shares the role of representing the Collège and communicating with external partners. He contributes to the development of the Order.
