Refresher training – Holder of a permit to practice in Quebec

SHARE

Refresher training, irrespective of whether or not it is completed pursuant to the Regulation respecting periods of refresher training and refresher courses that may be imposed on physicians, is intended for physicians who have a medical degree and a permit to practice in Quebec.

A training card is not required.

If the physician is not subject to the regulation respecting periods of refresher training and would like to complete a period of refresher training, they may:
  • Organize the period of refresher training directly with the training period supervisor, the director of professional services (DPS) or the medical director of the training site. Recognition of training, if necessary, can be obtained from the supervisor or from the health care institution where the period of refresher training  is completed;

OR

  • Ask the Collège's Professional Development and Remediation Division (PDRD) to organize the period of refresher training. The objectives of the period of refresher training must be established by the Collège in collaboration with the physician and the supervisor and an assessment of learning and a report must be provided to the Collège by the supervisor.

The report is then entered in the physician’s professional file.

File opening fees apply to this type of request. The PDRD is responsible for ensuring that all the necessary administrative agreements are in place so that the physician can complete the period of refresher training.

If the physician is subject to the regulation respecting periods of refresher training, they must contact the Collège's Professional Development and Remediation Division (PDRD).
