Restrictive permit for residents
This permit can be delivered to residents who have completed 18 months of training in family medicine or four (4) years of studies in one of the other 53 specialties recognized in Québec, under certain conditions.

Permit to practice and Registration on the Membership Roll 
For the candidate who wishes to obtain a permit to practice and begin his or her practice.

Changing a restrictive permit for resident into a "regular" permit
Holders of a restrictive permit for resident can apply for a conversion of their permit into a regular permit to practice, under certain conditions.
