You must successfully pass one of the two following examinations:
- the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) of the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC)
or
- the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination, part II (MCCQE II).
OSCE of the NAC
The OSCE examination is developed, administered and marked by the Medical Council of Canada. Results will be transmitted to candidates by the Medical Council of Canada. Practical information for this examination, including an information document for Québec, is available in the Web site of the Medical Council of Canada.
Eligibility and registration
Registration for this examination is with the Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ), according to the eligibility critera determined by the CMQ.
For the 2011 Spring examination, the information pertaining to this exam will be posted when available.
To be eligible and register for this examination, you must:
- have submitted your application for recognition of equivalence of your medical degree to the CMQ
- have submitted the required documents to the Physician Credentials Registry of Canada (PCRC)
- have passed:
- in 2008 or before, the written part of the Medical Clinical Sciences Examination of the CMQ (this examination is no longer offered)
or
- the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination part I (MCCQE I)

MCCQE part II
Registration for this examination is with the Medical Council of Canada, according to the critera determined by this organization.
